YouTube is a fantastic platform that makes looking for entertainment quick and easy. One channel called Crypt TV has used YouTube to make short horror videos, which has made them popular enough to be green-lit for a Peacock original series. One of the more popular ones is the LOOK-SEE. Its whole first season is 16 minutes long. It starts off with the death of thirteen children who were poisoned and a memorial with the parents, the characters we will be following this season.
We first follow a female cop who is the mother of one of the victims. While removing evidence tags, she finds a note. On it are the words " IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE THE IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE!" She is then alarmed as a figure moves at the corner of her eyes. She is then led to a stairway with a candle at the top. She turns to leave but is alarmed by a figure in the distance. She hides in the stairwell and finds a red glove near the candle. As she goes to blow out the candle, the glove is filled with a clawed hand. A face void of any features except a fang-filled mouth stares at her.
We are then brought to a bathroom stall where the previously clawed faced man writes on the stall wall, "IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE THE IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE" He leaves, but soon after a freighted-looking woman, another mother from the memorial, enters. She enters the stall with the writing and begins to fiddle with her ring and stare at the words.
Flashes of her happily laying with her husband play, but it seems to upset her as she whips around and holds the ring over the toilet. before she lets it go, she is startled by a thump outside of her stall. Alarmed she looks down and notices a pair of shoes on the floor. Scared she climbs on the toilet slowly looking over the stall finding nothing. However, they had just moved to the front of the stall, she looked up and was face to face with the LOOK-SEE.
It grabs her legs, knocking her to the bathroom floor, and she drops her ring. She scrambles to grab it as she is being pulled from the stall. Being able to pull herself with the toilet the mother picks up the ring and flushes it. Flashes of her husband play in her mind as it is flushed down. She slumps against the toilet in relief as she is let go, but her arm touches something. She looks up the looming figure of the LOOK-SEE.
We are then face to face with a redheaded women, as she stares at a picture of the twisted woman and her husband. With a annoyed grimace she pulls up the photo turning it to see the words," IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE THE IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE." Unbothered she rips the photo in two placing the photo of the man back on the mirror so she in place in the position of the wife.
As the first ever speaking role of this series, she leaves the restroom calling out for Daniel. The record that was playing has stopped, but as she looks around no one is there. The LOOK-SEE passes in the back into the kitchen. She assumes it is Daniel and with a smile she follows but spots no one but a creaking door. Her smile drops as she is led to an open bedroom door, she softly calls out to Daniel.
But it was not Daniel, It was the LOOK-SEE! She runs in terror to the bathroom slamming the door shut on the LOOK-SEE'S fingers. As the door is slammed against, she tries to open the window, But the door opens. The shot pans to a closed curtain, the redhead behind it covering her mouth in fear. she moves to open the curtain and finds nothing behind it. As she moves to get up the curtains suddenly close and when they reopen, her body is there without a head.
He finds a not with The LOOK-SEE'S catchphrase," IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE THE IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE." He is confused and drops a piece of cake but when he looks up a ghost of his daughter is in the doorway. As he stands up the door shuts, and the ghost enters a hall closet. All the father finds is a red ribbon of the girl at the bottom. another door opens behind him, and the LOOK-SEE appears. The father runs throwing away the cake and hiding under the table. But the real thing he had to let go was the ribbon which was still with him as LOOK-SEE appears in front of him. We leave his scene with his body of him without arms, the red ribbion in his hand and a twisted head.
The final scene for this story ends with the Twisted Woman, her left hand is missing as she franticly writes,
