CARGO (2018)
CARGO (2018)
Oh, horror movies... When you think of horror movies you think blood, guts and danger. What's a subgenre that has all three? ZOMBIES. Undead ghouls of the night (and day). They can be fast, slow, mutated or even just undead versions of themselves! This week's movie is CARGO. Cargo was originally a short horror film that grew so popular it became a full movie. I watched the short first and it was a real tearjerker. The movie was just as good, even while knowing the end from the short.
Cargo starts off on a houseboat, where the audience is introduced to our protagonists Father, Andy, with his wife, Kay and their infant daughter, Rosie. It seems normal at first just the family cruising on the river. Until they cross another family on the bank, Father name tries to be friendly, but the father of the other group flashes a pistol he has in his pants. This brings tension to the lax scenes before. Later Andy fishes a "Containment Assistance," Pack from the river. As he rifles through the kit, Kay and Andy begin to argue over their lack of supplies. Only Rosies cries break their fight. We then have a short cutscene with Thoomi, our deuteragonist.
